Rope Rescue Demonstration during Philippine Nationwide Earthquake Drill
KStrong Asia Pacific together with Philippine Rope Rescue Team participated on the High Angle Rope Rescue demonstration during the 3Q 2022 Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill last September 8, 2022 at Macea Building Legaspi Village Makati City. This event was headed by the Philippine National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) along with national agencies in namely, Makati Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF), Ayala Property Management Corporation, and Makati Central Estate Association (MACEA).
As part of the drill, preparedness and response skills were demonstrated such as community evacuation, activation of incident command post, fire suppression, search and rescue operations in collapsed structures, response to mass casualty incident, and high-angle rescue which the PRRT together with KStrong.
One of the Key Products used during the rescue was the KSTRONG Edge Parapet Anchor that provides a safe anchorage point on Parapets and facades for use on various structures. A regular Screw-bolt anchor cannot be used in such places because it may damage the base structure, KStrong Parapet Anchor preserves the look of the parapet and façade, while providing a safe anchorage point.
